Amazon 2014 – April 12
The team said that the signal from their location is not good, so even though they will try to call in every morning, if we don’t hear from them, we should not worry. Praise:
  • The medical team got set up in the school building in the afternoon and spent a good amount of time seeing patients – 47 all total. They worked out a good system to attend patients and give out medicine.
  • Some of our kids are really interested in the medical activities – possible future medical professionals?!
  • Last night they watched the first part of the Jesus film with Juan Carlos Castellanos giving a short message afterward. They’ll be showing the other 2 parts tonight and tomorrow night.
  • The praise team is a blessing as they sing songs in Portuguese during the evening services.
Requests:
  1. Pray for them as they continue to situation themselves in the village, trusting the Lord to guide them as they get settled in.
  2. Pray for the translation process during the clinic. It’s quite a challenge with the several languages, and especially critical in giving directions on how to take meds.
  3. Pray they can guard time in the Word, and also to be able to meet as a group to discuss the Word and plans.
  4. Pray for children’s ministry logistics. They tried to get started yesterday afternoon but it rained and they couldn’t get the kids rounded up. Pray they can share the Word with them and pray for them.
  5. Pray for sharing the Jesus film. They first hear it in Portuguese, Juan Carlos puts it into Spanish, then it’s translated into Ticuna. Pray for this brush with the gospel for those who hadn’t yet heard.
  6. Pray for the team to be an encouragement to the church there as they come alongside them.
