Amazon 2016 – March 21

Dear ECA Community, Today (Monday) the team was able to take a boat ride through the jungle and visit a local family’s land where they cultivate and prepare a typical food for that area. Then they took another 10-minute boat ride to a nearby town called Benjamin Constant where they had lunch with Jhon and his family. In the afternoon most of the team had another time of English lessons, games, and crafts with the children in the village while Megan Yohe and Elias Frantz continued to work on the bathroom construction. The bathroom walls and floor are completed, and Jhon plans to finish up the last details in the next week after the team leaves. In the evening the team had a devotional time with Jhon and his family, and were able to listen to their stories about their work in the village. Tomorrow (Tuesday) the team will pack up in the morning to head back to Leticia and then on Wednesday morning they will go to the airport to fly back to Bogotá. They are thankful for all of the prayers for them and their time in Guanabara III and Leticia. Querida comunidad ECA: Hoy(lunes) el equipo tuvo la oportunidad de viajar en bote a través de la selva y visitar la finca de una familia de la zona donde cultivan y preparan comida típica de la región. Luego viajaron durante 10 minutos más, hasta un pueblo cercano llamado Benjamín Constant donde almorzaron con Jhon y su familia. En la tarde la mayoría del equipo realizó más clases de inglés, juegos y manualidades con los niños en la comunidad, mientras Megan Yohe y Elías Frantz continuaron trabajando en la construcción del baño. Los muros y el piso del baño ya están terminados y Jhon planea finalizar los últimos detalles la próxima semana después de que el equipo salga de viaje. En la tarde el equipo disfrutó de un tiempo devocional con Jhon y su familia y tuvieron la oportunidad de escuchar las historias sobre su trabajo en la comunidad. Mañana (martes) en la mañana, el equipo empacará para dirigirse a Leticia y el miércoles en la mañana se trasladarán al aeropuerto para viajar a Bogotá. El equipo está agradecido por todas sus oraciones por ellos y por el tiempo que pasaron en Guanabara III y Leticia.
