Guajira 2016 – March 18

Dear ECA Community, The team left Santa Marta at 4:40 am and ate breakfast in Riohacha at 7:30 am. They arrived at Rancheria La Paz about 11 am and immediately began to work with the kids at the school. They did different activities with the students in 2nd, 3rd, and 7th grade, including lessons and a variety of games. The children were very thankful and were blessed by the visit of the missionary team. After the activities, the community offered the team a special lunch hosted by the 9th graders. By the end of the afternoon they were able to organize their luggage and leave the hammocks ready before leaving for a nearby beach to enjoy the ocean and the last rays of sun. The day ended with a special devotional time led by Mr. Becker. The plan in the morning (Saturday) is to help clean and organize one of the community storage rooms and then do some activities with 9th grade in the afternoon. The special prayer request is for rain. The drought is intense and this area has been without rain for four years. Querida comunidad ECA: El equipo salió de Santa Marta a las 4:40am y desayunaron en Riohacha a las 7:30 am. Llegaron a la Ranchería La Paz alrededor de las 11am y de inmediato empezaron a trabajar con los niños del colegio. Realizaron diferentes actividades con estudiantes de 2°, 3° y 7° que incluyen enseñanzas, dinámicas y juegos variados. Los niños están muy agradecidos y se sienten bendecidos con la visita del grupo misionero. Después de las actividades la comunidad les ofreció un almuerzo especial donde los anfitriones fueron los estudiantes de 9°. Al finalizar la tarde lograron acomodar su equipaje y dejar listas las hamacas para dormir en la noche antes de salir a una playa cercana para disfrutar del mar y de los últimos rayos del sol. La jornada terminó con un tiempo devocional muy especial dirigido por Mr. Becker. El plan de mañana (sábado)es ayudar a limpiar y organizar una bodega de la comunidad y en la tarde actividades con los estudiantes de 9°. La petición de oración especial es por agua, la sequía es impresionante ya que se cumplen 4 años sin lluvia.
