Guajira 2016 – March 20

Dear ECA Community, The director of the school that the team is visiting had her birthday on Saturday, so the team wasn’t there until 10 pm but until midnight to be able to serenade her along with the students from the school who spent the night there as well. The Sunday service started at 6:30 am and it was a joy to be able to listen to them worshipping God in Wayunnaiki. Pablo Trujillo and Esteban Talero helped with the worship. After that, the team helped with Sunday School. There were about 40 kids in attendance ranging from 0 to 12 years old. After lunch they continued to work on organizing the storage room and were able to finish! The school directors are very happy because this was a project that they have wanted to complete for three years but it has been impossible to do. Various students and young people from the church wanted to stay in the afternoon and continue spending time with our team. They played soccer and board games. At the end of the afternoon some of the girls from the community gave a gift to our girls. Today (Sunday) again by God’s grace, the tanks are full of water. We have been able to see God convert this part of the desert into an oasis. The four team leaders are very proud of the work of all of the students. They have been true servant leaders. The plan for tomorrow (Monday) is to leave at 5:30 am for Cabo de la Vela. We ask for prayer so that the trip goes well, for safety on the way, and for a good time of fellowship and fun. Querida comunidad ECA: Les contamos que la directora del colegio que están visitando estaba de cumpleaños, así que no estuvieron hasta las 10pm del sábado, sino hasta las 12pm, para llevarle una serenata junto con los niños del colegio que pasaron la noche allí. El servicio del domingo empezó a las 6:30am y fue un gozo poder escuchar alabar a Dios en Wayuunaiki. Pablo Trujillo y Esteban Talero ayudaron en la alabanza. Posteriormente el grupo trabajó en la escuela dominical. Atendieron a más o menos 40 niños de 0 a 12 años. Después del almuerzo continuaron trabajando en la organización de la bodega y terminaron!!!. Las directivas del colegio están muy felices porque era un proyecto que tenían desde hace más de tres años y había sido imposible realizarlo. Varios estudiantes y jóvenes miembros de la iglesia quisieron quedarse por la tarde y seguir compartiendo tiempo con nuestros chicos. Jugaron fútbol y juegos de mesa. Al final de la tarde algunas niñas de la comunidad le dieron un obsequio a nuestras niñas. Hoy (domingo) nuevamente por la gracia de Dios, los tanques se llenaron de agua. Hemos podido ver que Dios convirtió esta parte del desierto en un oasis. Los cuatro líderes del grupo están muy orgullosos del trabajo de todos los muchachos. Han sido verdaderos siervos líderes. El plan de mañana (lunes) es salir a las 5:30am para el Cabo de la Vela. Les pedimos oración para que tengan un buen viaje, seguridad en el camino y un tiempo de compañerismo y diversión.
