Sierra Nevada 2017 – April 9

Dear Sierra Nevada Support Team, We started out the day with a beautiful Sunday service in Kogui. Although we couldn’t understand the language, we could feel God’s presence amidst the singing, dancing and praying. It was beautiful to see all the families gathered together and their hearts for the Lord. After a time of worship, we took the kids out for Sunday school. Split into groups of two, we talked about the parable of the lost coin and how each and every one of them are precious in God’s sight. The children enjoyed searching for chocolate coins and learning bible verses. After church, the Kogui families usually play soccer for a time before lunch and we joined in the game. We just had our last session with the kids. It was all about the story of the prodigal son. We even had a party like the father did for his son in the Bible. Finally, Profe Henry was able to meet with the Kogui couples and talk about marriage with them. Please continue praying for us as we spend some more time with these families tonight and tomorrow morning, before we head back to Santa Marta around 1pm. Blessings. Querido equipo de apoyo de Sierra Nevada, Empezamos el día con un hermoso servicio en Kogui. Aunque no podíamos entender el idioma, se sentía claramente la presencia de Dios durante las alabanzas, oraciones y la danza. Fue muy lindo ver a todas las families juntas alabando al Señor. Después de la alabanza empezamos la escuela dominical. En grupos de dos, hablamos de la parábola de la moneda perdida. Le explicamos a los niños que cada uno de ellos son tan valiosos para el Señor como la moneda fue para la mujer. Los niños disfrutaron buscando monedas de chocolate y aprendiendo versículos bíblicos. Después del culto, las familias Kogui juegan fútbol antes del almuerzo y participamos con ellos. Después del almuerzo, terminamos la última sesión con los niños sobre la parábola del hijo pródigo. Hasta tuvimos una fiesta para los niños como el padre tuvo para su hijo. Finalmente, Profe Henry tuvo un tiempo de enseñanza sobre el matrimonio con las parejas Kogui. Por favor continúen orando por nosotros en nuestra última noche aquí con los Kogui antes de regresar a Santa marta mañana a las 1 de la tarde. Bendiciones.
