This morning the team attended the Tikuna church and Yonahatan, the staff team leader, was asked to preach. At first there was no translator available, but God answered prayer and a young man who could speak Spanish and Tikuna arrived and was able to translate the sermon, which was on 3 of the greatest promises God gives. The ECA team participated in the service with some worship music.

The ECA team had time together to celebrate communion. During their time of worship, one of the ECA students shared her desire to be baptized. The baptism is planned for Monday in the Amazon and her mom has already given her support. One of the ECA teachers is working with the student to make sure she understands this important step of faith.

In the afternoon, the ECA team did activities with the community including teaching, crafts, games like soccer, and Spanish/Portuguese classes. Part of the ECA team is also dedicated to treating the wood of the missionary couple’s home.

The whole ECA team is doing very well healthwise.

Monday the team plans to have lunch in Peru in the village of Benjamin Constant and to learn a bit more about this area. In the afternoon they will be back in Guanabara 3 to serve the villagers.

A major prayer request is for Denelvis Cadena, the wife of the missionary couple, who is seriously ill. She was moved to Bogota because the hospital in Leticia could not do more for her. Her eyes and skin are yellow colored and Monday she will be having an exam in her lungs to rule out tuberculosis. She is not able to communicate and she is not mentally alert. Though most of the time she does not react, when Jhon asked her tonight who her Savior was, she answered JESUS.

Jhon is here in Bogota staying with family members. Their two daughters (4 and 12 years old) are in Leticia with one of their mission team members. Our ECA team is with one of the women missionary team members plus two other JUCUM missionaries who are helping with the cooking.

Denelvis is in Clinica Centenario on Calle 13 #17-21 in room 522. If anyone from the ECA community has contacts there at the hospital and can recommend care for Denelvis, her husband Jhon would greatly appreciate that support. More than anything, Jhon requests the ECA community to pray to God the healer for his wife.
