The team was joyfully tired last night after a wonderful day that included the baptisms of three of our students on the team. Yonahatan had the privilege of baptizing them, and he commented it was one of the most precious moments of his life. Those on the beach sang hymns and so many were truly touched.
After the baptisms we went swimming in the river. In the last few years they didn’t swim in the river itself but an area just off the river; but this year that area was dry so we swam in the river. We played on some huge logs, throwing each other back down into the water. It was a very nice time.
For lunch we asked a boat driver to take us into Peru to Islandia where we had lunch with Benjamin Constant. We had a very nice time there.
Back at Guanabara III we finished up the work and cleaning we were doing on Jhon’s house, including treating the roof against the insects that had been devouring the wood. We feel good about the work we were able to accomplish. The afternoon also included games and activities with the children.
Early tomorrow morning we will go on a prayer walk throughout the village, praying for each house and family, for the Lord’s presence to be real in each one. Then we’ll pack up and leave for Leticia, expecting to get there around 1:00. Then we’ll go to a hotel where we’ll use the pool and get to shower and wash hair after our time in the jungle. After a night at the JUCUM base, we’ll fly back to Bogotá on Wednesday, the Lord willing.
Thank you all for your prayers. The Lord has been so gracious to us!
