Everyone’s just fine – there have been no incidents, and no one is sick. We’ve been able to have our devotions each day. This morning we walked in the jungle for a while, with one of the teachers from the community as our guide. Along the way we ran across fariña, flour from a poisonous yucca plant, which they know how to make safe to eat. After that we ate many regional fruits along the way. The girls in our group were strong and did quite well.

When we got back to the community, there weren’t that many mosquitoes. Our lunch there was delicious arroz con pollo. We broke into 2 groups, one of which worked with the children from the community. The other group made some minor repairs to the missionaries’ wooden house there and helped them treat the wood for pests.

Several ECA students were able to call their parents, while others couldn’t get through.
