Look at God moment: Two days ago Pastora Jacqueline was having a Bible study and realized they only had TWO Bibles for the many woman of this community (somewhere between 100-120). Turns out, the donations we brought with us included 20 Bibles! La Pastora said she is in awe at how fast He was able to answer her prayer. All glory goes to HIM!

Thank God we were able to re-energize this morning. Students were at school, which means we were able to start our first full day going to the beach and exploring the rancheria.

On our way to the beach, about a 10-minute walk, we passed a bunch of dogs, a few goats, a couple of roosters and chickens (including a dead one hung on a tree) and a donkey that was so still we thought he was a statue. There seem to be various families living in different parts of this rancheria, but there is definitely enough land for all to inhabit it.

It took some time to get everyone showered after the beach (there’s only one toilet area for the entire community), but the shrimp and rice lunch was worth the wait! At 3pm, we were with the children/teenagers of the community. While the boys played a competitive game of soccer, the girls had a spa appointment which included facials, manicures, pedicures and personal hand oil massages. Oh yeah… it was magical.

We ended the evening by having praise, and watching a dance and a play/drama. The Lord used Valbu to speak to the community about the greatest command, while ECA students entertained 20-30 kids with hugs, hand games, and laughter.

Tomorrow is the first day ECA students will be teaching! Please pray for favor and confidence when showing Jesus.

May or may not be sweating in my hammock.
