Day 2 of Vacation Bible School and English classes: Surprise! About 10-15 teenagers from Saturday’s kids club showed up today at the school. We planned on having all elementary aged children. While some plans were completely thrown out the window some activities were adaptable and were made to be age appropriate. The team regrouped quickly and came up with a plan to adapt to the changes, but overall it still feels like it is an area for improvement. Despite unexpected changes, today went much smoother than Friday’s VBS. Today’s Bible lesson focused on Jesus healing the paralytic man who was let down through the roof by his friends. After the morning VBS and lunch, a large majority of the team played fútbol (soccer) with some of the neighborhood boys.

The team then visited two families. One visit was with a teacher from the school and her daughter, who is a student at the school. The teacher shared her testimony of how she came to be a teacher at the school and how God has provided for her family despite all the teachers being volunteers. We then visited another family, a mom and her two boys, who shared their testimony about how the school has impacted them. The house visits were followed by dinner and a time of final planning for our last day of VBS tomorrow. We shall see what surprises God has in store for us! Thanks again for following us on our trip, and for your prayers.
