Today was a day full of activities for our team. We started off with several hours of painting the front of the church and one of the rooms in it. Everyone was helping in different ways and we were able to get a lot done in a short amount of time! A few Kogi men were helping us, which created some space for great conversations about how they came to believe in Jesus. It was impacting to hear their testimonies of faith and see the joy on their faces as we worked together to improve their church’s appearance.

After a quick lunch, the rest of the day was spent with the children and a few teenagers. Our students did an amazing job of planning many games that pointed back to God, encouraging the children to trust in Jesus. Then we had a time of art where, as we drew and colored together,  the kids taught us to say and spell Kogi terms and laughed at our pronunciations. It has been surprisingly easy to communicate thanks to a few translators, and due to the fact that they know some Spanish.

Tonight we will have a time of devotions and planning for Sunday school tomorrow. Please continue to pray for our time here! Something that has been challenging is that we bought a lot of water to drink here and the pastor assured us the bottles of water would be carried up (just like other years). However, tomorrow will be day 3 and the water is still not here. Instead, we have had to boil a lot of water with an open fire.  By the time it cools, it has taken up several hours of the day. Pray that they will bring it soon! It has been very hot during the day, and the water is much needed.

We thank you for your prayers and support! Looking forward to updating you again soon,
