The New Spiritual Growth Program for HS Students

Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised.
Psalm 48:1

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him.
Psalm 103:11

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases,
His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light.
Isaiah 9:2

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
This is the great and first commandment.
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets
Matthew 22:37-40

There are a lot of things in the world today that command our attention. But very few of the things that we devote our time to have lasting significance. Great Things is a program that is designed to focus on the great things of God – the things that will last forever. Students who participate in this program will be regularly reminded of what is truly great, and will be challenged to order their lives accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Who is this program for?

Great Things is open to any high school student who would like to attend.

  1. What if I can only come a few times?

No problem! If you have a filled-out permission slip (sent home on Aug 24), you are welcome to come to any of the meetings. Students are welcome to come once and check it out with no pressure to commit to coming all the time.

  1. Will transportation be provided?

For the first few weeks, we will provide transportation free of charge. Drop-off spots are on the permission slip, so parents will need to pick up their kids at the spot that they chose on the form. Due to the high cost of transportation, we will not be able to provide it for free after the month of September. Beginning in October, it will cost $5.000 per meeting to ride on ECA-arranged transportation. We will be figuring out the best way to provide transportation as we move forward, so if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact Mr. Ochoa who oversees transportation for Great Things. You can send him an email at school.chaplain@eca.edu.co

  1. What will an average Great Things gathering look like?
