On day two of our Duitama trip, we started off with our usual routine: 45 minutes of one-on-one time with God, breakfast cooked by the ECA men, and “Team Time” where we reflect on Scripture and prepare to be stretched and used by God today. The highlight is affirmation beads: everyone chooses a bead to give to another teammate whom we saw reflecting Christ the day before along with a personal word of encouragement.

We then reunited with Iglesia Duitama and the members of the rehabilitation center for an asado at the Trinidad River. We got rained on but we had so much fun. It was exciting to continue building on the relationships we formed yesterday. We had the blessing to witness and cheer on our brother Gerardo as he got baptized by his spiritual mentors in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in a river named after the Trinity. Now, we are finishing up preparations for the church’s Mission Night where we will worship together and encourage others to take up the incredible call God has for the workers in His harvest fields. Thank you for praying! Students have already said, this trip has been spiritually and emotionally challenging in ways they weren’t expecting but also so, so worth it.
