Good afternoon, everyone!
Yesterday after this update, we had a lot of fun celebrating Samuel’s birthday with a tasty chocolate cake! Today, a lot of kids came to the foundation for a church service in the morning. After this, we began our activities for the second day of Vacation Bible School. We started with songs that the kids kind of knew already from yesterday, and then we had them dance with us. Next, we had lunch with the kids.
After lunch, we continued our activities and divided the kids into groups based on their ages, and sent them off to rotate through the stations. The verse for today was Proverbios 3:5-6, “Confía en el Señor de todo corazón, y no en tu propia inteligencia. Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, y él allanará tus sendas.” We continued talking about Joseph’s story, the part when he goes to jail and needs to trust God especially when it seemed like God was not with him. The kids had a lot of fun making a handcraft of Joseph in jail, eating their snack of crackers, cream cheese, grapes, and mora juice, playing volleyball, and acting out the story. After everyone had rotated through the stations, we went back to the church and danced two more songs, ending the activities by reviewing today’s verse.
Finally, we had free time, which we used to continue sharing and playing games with the kids, and then we had dinner. It’s hard to believe that we have only one more day of VBS with them!
Praises:
- The kids were a lot less shy when dancing with us.
- The kids had a lot of fun and were really involved in the activities.
- A large majority of the kids memorized the verses.
- We were able to share some stories with the kids.
Prayer Requests:
- For the rest of the activities to go well
- For us to dig deeper into our relationships with the kids
- For the kids to continue being involved
- For us to have a good rest and recover energy for tomorrow
