Sunday, 6:46p. Greetings from the East West Amazonas team! We experienced the true definition of “rain forest” yesterday, but our team was filled with joy playing in the water and being reminded by our national partners that sunshine and rain are both gifts from God. In the afternoon, half of our team took the village kids for a program of music, games, and the gospel message. The rest of our team got to meet with the believers and villagers we’d invited during evangelism. We sang “God Has Been So Good” in English, Spanish, and Tíkuna. Some of our students shared the word and we had a time of Bible question and answer afterward. One elderly woman had been filled with fear when our team entered her house and wrote down her name because she was afraid we might be trying to do something evil. But she still came to the meeting and through a Tíkuna translator, we were able to explain that we wrote her name to continue praying for her and we read her scriptures about what the followers of Jesus are like. By the end, she trusted and welcomed our team. We had expected intense spiritual darkness in San Martin and what we met was fertile ground for the gospel!
Today, we stayed in Mocagua, worshiped with local believers, and split our team in three to serve the kids, youth, and adults throughout their church service. This afternoon, we played sports with the community and invited them to a service that several other villages are attending this evening. Pray that our brothers and sisters in Christ would be encouraged by our team’s teaching this evening and that new guests to the church would want to know more about this Jesus that we speak of. Thank you for joining us in this ministry!
