Greetings from the East West Amazonas team! After a day of enjoying nature around Puerto Nariño, we are back in the Leticia airport waiting to take off. It has been an unforgettable mission trip.
Last night we spent time debriefing the week, encouraging every member of the team, and worshiping together. We have seen God working in tribes and languages that until recently had no access to His good news. We have watched Him growing the members of our team as we’ve stepped out of our comfort zones in obedience to Him and seen Him come through again and again. Finally, we have experienced the body of Christ building itself up in love as we’ve spoken truth into one another. As we transition back to Bogotá, we ask that you would stay committed with us to praying for those who are not yet reached with the gospel here in Colombia and to the ends of the earth. Keep engaging with our brothers and sisters who are responding to God’s call by going to the places that most desperately need discipleship. Ask God how He wants to use YOU to fulfill his grand plan for the nations and be prepared for an adventure when you’re willing to say yes!
Last week in the airport leaving for the Amazonas, the Holy Spirit spoke to the heart of one of our team leaders and told him, “The trip doesn’t begin when you land; it starts now.” God ended up seating him next to a man on the plane with whom he was able to share the gospel and pray for salvation! That was just the first of many such exciting stories as we were able to share the gospel with 240 people across three villages, with 145 making professions of faith. Time will tell how many of those seeds end up sprouting as there is much discipleship needed in Villa Andrea, Santa Teresita, and San Martín. But we know that God’s Word will not return void, and we trust that He is using this week to impact eternity! As the Lord taught us on the first day, so now we reaffirm: the mission doesn’t end when the plane lands. Let’s be people who respond to God’s call daily with “Here I am! Send me.”
