Saturday, 10:19 pm. Starting the day off at around 6 am, our team began their last morning in Bocachica. We helped Juli, our host, to clean up to prepare for their next guests. We really enjoyed serving in Bocachica. All of the little kid’s faces will forever resonate in our hearts as well as the need over there. Our team was profoundly impacted by the amount of need in that place. We would like not only ourselves but all of our ECA community members to keep them in your prayers and keep their hearts open for any kind of help they may need. After a short goodbye the staff at Bocachica gave us all a gift to remember them by, handmade bracelets.
Our team then departed from Cartagena and after an amazing breakfast we took off towards where we will be staying for these last days, la Iglesia Cuadrangular. Afterbeing received with open arms, we quickly took showers to prepare for the next sessions. Our worship team began the arduous task of learning songs for the Sunday church service while other team members helped decorate the church so the kids would love going in the future. We went out to eat lunch with our new hosts and created deeper bonds with our team members. After lunch, we returned to the church to finish setting up the four stations to aid the kids in learning about Jesus’ character. We began with kid’s worship and then we divided the children into four groups to teach them about honesty, obedience, loyalty, and wisdom.
The next group were the teenagers, which was an experience our team will never forget. Tom led a little session, followed by a game Gaby prepared. We then said our goodbyes and our team prepared for the next day. We are fully ready for Sunday!
