Today we traveled from Bogotá to Cartagena, and then to Bocachica. As soon as we got to Cartagena, we went to the Cuadrangular Church. There, we sorted out the materials we needed for the island. After that, we arrived at the port and took a lancha to get to Bocachica.

In Bocachica, we walked to the base and settled in. We were warmly welcomed and made chicken with coconut rice. After lunch, we went out into the community to invite teenagers to a youth group we had organized. At the youth group, we taught them about the importance of learning—not just in school, but in their everyday lives.

As a closing activity, we played musical chairs and then handed out popcorn. To end the day, we spent time with the community watching a soccer game. It was a truly wonderful first day. It was amazing to see the joy in the kids and how loving they all are.

We can’t wait to continue spreading God’s love through service and sharing time with these amazing children. Thank you for your prayers! Tomorrow, we’ll be working at the local Christian school and later with the younger children in the community.
