Amazonas Team

Yesterday, we arrived safely in Irene. The river was very high, which worked in our favor—it allowed us to reach the community in just 3 hours. Once we arrived, we had the chance to work with around 150 children and were able to carry out all the activities we had planned for the day.

One of the highlights was playing tennis—something completely new for the kids. None of them had ever held a racket before, so it was a beautiful moment watching them learn and enjoy the game. They played until nearly 9 p.m. and didn’t want to stop! We actually had to guide them out of the church, where we were playing, and some even tried to sneak back in through the windows to keep playing. It was heartwarming to see their excitement and energy.

Several of our students gave tennis lessons, led by Martín Serrano, which made it even more meaningful.

Today, we continue with our planned activities. Around 12:30 or 1:00 p.m., we’ll be heading back to the base, so we ask for your prayers as we travel. Once we’re back, we’ll be serving by helping with different tasks around the base.
