After a very early morning at the airport, (some of us were in taxis at 3:30a!) we arrived safely in La Guajira. Our rides took us safely to the ranchería where we are staying. We were greeted warmly by the people with handshakes, tinto, and finding out that they had made us a bathroom! The people here are so kind and hospitable, eager to learn from us, just as much as we are ready to serve and learn from them.

We started our day by getting to know each other with some icebreakers and some cultural exchange games. It was really encouraging seeing everyone bond together. Tomorrow is a big day for us. The ECA student team will start training the team here, and in the afternoon we are expecting to have many kids from the different rancherías coming to partake in the program that we have prepared for them. Please pray for our team as we work together with the Wayuu people.
