Guajira team 1

Five days of our trip are already over! We arrived exhausted yesterday from our last day of sharing the gospel in the specific houses the pastors had chosen. We were able to share our gospel story with more than 20 kids that day, since their parents had all gathered to have a meeting. We got to a ranchería at a church that actually has electricity and a toilet. We feel like we’re at a 5-star hotel.

Today, we attended a Sunday morning service in Spanish and Wayuunaiki where we led worship and several students shared their testimonies, and Mr. Salazar gave a talk, along with several of the Wayuu leaders. We got to rest a little bit in the afternoon, and the students held a soccer match in the heat of the day with the Wayuu team (we won!). As I write, the students are leading activities for all the kids of the church, sharing the love of Jesus through Bible stories, activities, and games. Everyone is still well (although our feet are all swollen from the heat and the elevation change), and we feel so grateful for your prayers and the receptive hearts we saw from the families we were visiting.

Tomorrow, we will lead activities at a school by the beach, and that will be our last full day. I continue to pray that the Lord will work in and through our students so that the students who return home will be transformed by this trip, to be nearer to abundant life in our savior.
