After our early flight to Santa Marta, we were met with the beautiful sunrise. We were immediately welcomed by a family that helped us coordinate our breakfast. As soon as we were done, we started to prepare the materials we were going to need for the following days. Then we drove to the church we were going to stay at. We started to settle our things down and were welcomed by a teacher who used to be part of the ECA staff. Then we walked five minutes from the church we’re staying at to a school where we presented to a big group of 11th graders who wanted to practice their English with us. They were really welcoming and started to ask us several questions about our purpose as missionaries and our life back in Bogota. They also gave us a tour around the school and we had several activities with the 11th graders practicing their English skills. At the end of the day we hosted a church service in which our worship team sang some songs, and we had time for small groups to share with the community as well. This first day was a perfect experience to grow together as a group and get started on our mission.
