The La Vega Team includes 5 high schoolers and 3 teachers. Day 1 began with our high schoolers at the La Vega Public School, where our students engaged middle schoolers with fun activities led by Sarah Juanita, Gabriela Vargas, Darien, Juan Camilo and Salome Bejarano. The kids loved the sessions, and the smiles on their faces expressed their joy and enthusiasm. The rest of the evening was spent in planning and preparation for the next day led by profe Andrea Gómez.
Day 2 began with Devotions from 1 John 1-2:2, led by profe Henry Piñeros. Everyone responded actively with the Time to Reflect sheets after the devotions. Activity stations were planned for all the classes (Grade 1-5) of the Gimnasio Cristiano School (GAD). Our high schoolers involved the students in: Origami sessions by Darien and Juan Camilo, Play-dough activities by Gabriela Vargas, Math magic by Mr. Thomas, and fun games for the kids by Sarah Juanita and Salome. The afternoon session was spent in the English club for the students from 3-5 pm. The students also actively participated in choreography sessions, learning routines they will present on Mon, Apr 11. ECA generously provided some knowledgeable books and stationery kits for the GAD students.
We praise God for all the logistics provided to serve the students at the GAD mission school. Our prayer is that we will fulfill Galatians 6:9-10 — “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
