Today we had the privilege of splitting into two groups to go around visiting families in the community. We asked them specifically how we could be praying for them. They shared their current struggles and requests. Our students prayed over the families and shared verses of encouragement. We are so proud of our students and their servant hearts!

During lunch Margarita, the wife of one of the leaders who has been so gracious in helping us cook with a wood fire, shared with us the history of how this community was driven out of their homeland for believing in Jesus. It is impacting to see such joy in a community that has suffered for their faith. Two of our students will be speaking to the adults tonight, so hearing the history helped them to prepare for what they want to say.

After lunch, we had a few hours of playing with the kids. Tonight, we’re preparing for a small service with the adults in the community. We will have a time of worship, prayer, and talks. Please pray for the Lord to encourage their hearts! We want to leave them with a sense of hope and unity, so that they will know and remember they are not alone. Finally, pray for our hike back down the mountain tomorrow. We are leaving early – at 7:00 a.m. – to avoid the heat!

Thank you for all your support,
