The Association of Christian School International has invited all the academic communities in ACSI schools all over the world to pray together during these times of crisis. They ask us to pray following the guide below, which can also be found online here: https://www.acsi.org/calltoglobalprayer#prayer-map. MondaysPray for Medical Workers and Patients

Pray for:

  • The quick recovery of all who are sick.
  • The well-being and safety of those caring for the sick.
  • Christians in health care to overflow with hope; pray that they would be able to share the joy, peace, and hope of Christ with those around them.

Scripture to Consider:

  • The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness You restore him to full health. Psalm 41:3
  • So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
  • But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD … Jeremiah 30:17

Tuesdays – Pray for Teachers

Pray for:

  • Their eyes to stay strong with many hours online right now.
  • Teachers to connect well with students, especially emotionally and spiritually.
  • Endurance to run the race well no matter what the end of the school year looks like.

Scripture to Consider:

  • But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
  • Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. Proverbs 9:9
  • Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

Wednesdays – Pray for the World

Pray:

  • For regions around the world that are ill-equipped medically to deal with such a crisis.
  • That we can learn from each other and grow to be stronger for future education as a result of our current situation.
  • For resources so that Christian schools can thrive during this time.

Scripture to Consider:

  • “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
  • He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
  • “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Thursdays – Pray for Technology

Pray for:

  • Educators to continue learning and mastering technology so they can provide excellence in education.
  • Smooth internet connections and social connection in this physical distancing time.

Scripture to Consider:

  • {Now may the God of peace} equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21
  • “Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told …” Habakkuk 1:5

Fridays – Pray for Families

Pray for:

  • Families who are juggling both school and work at home.
  • Families separated right now due to COVID-19, whether it’s grandparents from grandchildren or medical workers from their loved ones.
  • Families to have healthy personal boundaries so they can enjoy their time together.
  • Parents to continue providing spiritual discipleship during this time.

Scripture to Consider:

  • These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7
  • Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
  • Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12
  • May the LORD our God be with us as He was with our ancestors; may He never leave us nor forsake us. 1 Kings 8:57

Saturdays – Pray for Schools

Pray for:

  • School leadership to lead well during this time.
  • God to supply all needs.
  • Schools to lead and educate their students on how to handle in a godly way any situation they encounter.

Scripture to Consider:

  • For no word from God will ever fail. Luke 1:37
  • Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
  • Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Sundays – Pray for Salvation & Repentance

Prayer Points:

  • Seek repentance in your own heart and life.
  • Seek repentance for our country and world.
  • Pray that those who are lost will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
  • Pray that many people find their answers in Jesus Christ. Our world is searching for answers. Many are afraid and uncertain about the future.

Scripture to Consider:

  • He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit… Titus 3:5
  • For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:16-17
