We started the day off with a bang as the final soccer championship began around 7:00 a.m. The excitement could be felt in the air, as onlookers cheered from the sidelines – with pots and pans as drums – as the men’s staff team took on the boys of Cumaral (with the addition of Mr. Flavin). By 9:00 a.m., the staff had won the game, and we were ready to eat breakfast!
Afterwards, the pastor led a beautiful devotion about the real meaning of Semana Santa, and then the whole camp left for the pool. It was wonderful to share in the pure enjoyment of the children of Cumaral; as an opportunity to spend a day in the water is not the norm for them. We are definitely learning many lessons, especially about being grateful.
Tonight, we will perform a special dance presentation and then share s’mores and stories over a bonfire!
Love and blessings,
Allison and the Cumaral Team
