Christmas Program

I love Christmas. I love the lights, I love the presents, I love the lights, and I love the food. I love Christmas for all the wrong reasons.

This is a paraphrase from a devotional form Paul David Tripp. When I listened to the devotional it got me thinking. I too, love Christmas for all those reasons. And I know that a lot of you love Christmas for the very same reasons. So this message is to remind us all the real reason why we celebrate Christmas.

We celebrate Christmas to remember the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

When Mary was pregnant with Jesus, babies leaped for joy in their mothers wombs (Luke 1:44), mothers were singing songs of praise (Luke 1:46-55), and angels ministered to parents (Matthew 1:18-25). And at the time of His birth wise men from the east came to worship Him (Matthew 2:1-2), a multitude of heavenly hosts praised God and said, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:13-14), and shepherds went with haste to see Him (Luke 2:15:16).

So this Christmas I want us to leap of joy, sing songs of praise, be prophesized to by angels through the Word of God, worship Him, praise God for His birth, and let’s go to see Him in spirit and in Word.
