As part of an ongoing conversation, the Library/Media Center staff invites continued participation from parents and other staff members as to whether or not specific materials in the collection meet the criteria that we seek to apply in curating that collection.
The following statements, taken from the Library Policy Manual, provide a common framework within which to hold that conversation while working together to protect the hearts and minds of our students; at the same time, we understand that each family’s interpretation of these may be different and that some parents will find value in materials to which other families object.
We encourage parents to stay connected with what their children are reading, and we will be happy to interact personally whenever concerns arise. Direct concerns to library@eca.edu.co.
